Capacity, an AI support-automation company based in St. Louis, announced between 26 and 27 August 2026 the acquisition of Chattigo, a Chilean platform for conversational customer service, sales and collections with operations in Chile and Mexico. Closing took place in May 2026. It matters because an asset built with minimal capital obtained, according to press estimates, a price close to USD 60 million from a US strategic buyer.
The transaction
The parties did not disclose terms. Ecosistema Startup reported a price of USD 60 million and a range of five to seven times ARR; LatamList described it as approximately USD 60 million according to sources. Both figures are press estimates, not information from the parties.
Chattigo (Santiago, 2015) runs AI-driven customer service, sales and collections across 15 channels, including WhatsApp. It reported ARR of USD 11 million in 2025, projected growth of 80% for 2026, 800 clients in more than 20 markets and only USD 2 million of capital raised over its history, from Corfo, Alaya in 2017 and Fen and Morro in 2020. Capacity reports more than USD 100 million in ARR and more than 20,000 customers. The buyer’s stated rationale is Chattigo’s relationship with Meta and its Spanish-language capability for Latin America, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Value drivers
Spanish-language capability and the Meta relationship. The buyer cited both as reasons for the purchase. In our reading, a US buyer with more than USD 100 million in ARR pays for distribution in a language and a channel it does not command, not for technology it could build.
A multiple on recurring revenue. If the USD 60 million estimate is correct, the price equals around five times 2025 ARR. That is a strategic-buyer multiple for an asset with 80% projected growth, and in our reading it would be hard to reach with a financial sponsor.
Capital efficiency. With USD 2 million raised and an estimated price of USD 60 million, founder dilution was minimal. The relevant fact for the sector is not the multiple but how much of the price stays with those who ran the company.
Conversational collections as a use case. Chattigo sells collections alongside service and sales. In our reading, that module connects with banks and fintechs that already use WhatsApp to recover portfolios, a segment with stable budgets.
What the market is signalling
For comparables in Mexico, where WhatsApp is the dominant channel for commercial service, the transaction indicates that US buyers value Spanish-language conversational capability as a distribution asset rather than a feature. Mexican platforms with clients in banking, retail or services and a certified Meta integration have a natural buyer outside the country.
For lenders and funds, the case shows that a SaaS with USD 11 million in ARR and 80% growth can reach an exit without large rounds; in our reading, that weakens the argument that venture capital is a precondition for selling to a strategic. For founders, the signal is that the sale process, not the fundraising track record, determines the price.
G2’s reading for a mandate
A sell-side mandate for conversational software should document ARR by channel and by market, the Meta certification, net retention by client and the contribution of the collections module, because those are the elements a US strategic buyer needs to justify five or more times ARR to its board. The counterparty universe should include AI support companies in the United States that do not yet operate in Spanish.
